Fighting for Military Service Members Worldwide

You can’t afford NOT to hire an aggressive and experienced court martial lawyer. I am 100% committed to getting a not guilty verdict.

Are My Chances Really That Much Better with an Experienced Court Martial Lawyer?

YES, they are. The conviction rate for military prosecutors is historically about 90%. These prosecutors are hand-picked because they can get convictions. So you need to hand-pick a legal team that can get acquittals. Don’t take a knife to a gun fight.

What You Can Expect:

Military Defense Lawyer

I’m a retired Marine Corps Judge Advocate. While on active duty I was a defense counsel, prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney, and an appellate defense counsel in Washington, D.C.

From 2016 to 2019—my last tour on active duty—I was the Senior Defense Counsel at Marine Corps Base Hawaii and then immediately transitioned to defending service members as a civilian defense attorney. I am 100% committed to getting a not guilty verdict.

Retain a Civilian Military Defense Attorney
If You're Under Investigation

Military Law and Appeals defense attorney, Jeff Liebenguth, discussing why a military service member should retain legal representation if under investigation by military law enforcement, like NCIS, CID, or OSI. Under military rules, a service member is not entitled to a free active duty lawyer until after charges are brought or the service member is placed into pretrial confinement.

This results in a service member often having nobody protecting their rights and interests while the Government works to gather evidence for a conviction. This puts a military service member accused of a UCMJ offense at a tremendous disadvantage, but retaining a civilian military lawyer can flip the script and make the chances of a not guilty verdict much, much better.

I am 100% committed to getting a not guilty verdict.

Any accused service member needs to understand that even an innocent person, represented by a weak, inexperienced, or poor defense attorney, can be convicted.

So you need to be as certain as you can that your court martial lawyer is better than the government prosecutors trying to convict you. Not only does your chosen defense attorney need to know the facts of the case backwards and forwards, he must also be able to deliver those facts with the passion and energy needed to convince the jury to vote NOT GUILTY.

“Jeff Liebenguth helped me prepare my administrative case in my appeal to the Board to Correct Naval Records (BCNR). He also provided information on follow on steps to take and what to expect in this convoluted process. Jeff was direct and to the point, but also extremely professional.

This was my third appeal and I had been unsuccessful on my previous two attempts. With Jeff’s assistance I won my appeal, which positively affected my career on multiple fronts and led to my promotion to the next higher rank.” – United States Marine Corps Officer

The longer you go it alone, the more opportunity the government has to build a case against you—and that’s time you can never get back.

I don’t speak legalese to my clients

I’ve litigated high-stakes military criminal cases from every perspective possible: as a defense counsel, as an appellate defense counsel, and as a prosecutor since 2003. I’ll explain in plain language the charges, possible outcomes, and extensive strategy for fighting for your not guilty verdict so you’re never left in the dark on what’s happening with your case.

“Jeff is fantastic litigator. His firm grip on the law allows him to take complex legal arguments and make them understandable for his clients. His in court advocacy illustrates his not only his legal prowess, but his unyielding commitment to his clients’ interests. I would highly recommend his services to anyone.”
